Emails about your account

The welcome and password emails Platinum Strand sends, and what to do with each.

Platinum Strand emails you about your account at a few moments: when you're added, and when you ask to reset your password. Here's what each email is called and what to do with it. None of them ever contains a password.

  1. When you're added

You get one of two emails, depending on how your organisation signs in:

The welcome email for a password sign-in (your email app will look different)
  2. When you ask to reset your password

    • “Reset your Platinum Strand password” — click Choose a new password. The link lasts one hour and works once. See Resetting a forgotten password.

💡 Tips

Each new link cancels the earlier ones, so always use the newest email.

Didn't ask for a reset? Ignore the email — your password won't change.

⚠️ If it goes wrong

Nothing arrived? Check your junk or quarantine folder first. Welcome emails can be resent by the person who added you; reset emails you can simply request again.

An email asks you to type a password into it, or sends one? It isn't from Platinum Strand — we never email passwords. Don't reply; tell your IT team.
